These terms apply to the I Got Shoes Society Lottery. By purchasing a ticket you confirm you are aged 18 or over and a resident of Great Britain.

Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern your participation in the I Got Shoes Society Lottery (“the Lottery”). The Lottery is operated by I Got Shoes, a registered charity (No. 1160896) and company limited by guarantee (No. 09154537), registered at 108 Woodman Road, Warley, Brentwood, CM14 5AZ.

2. The Society Lottery

The I Got Shoes Lottery is a society lottery registered and operated under the Gambling Act 2005. The Lottery is licensed by the relevant local licensing authority. All proceeds from the Lottery, after prizes and administration costs, go directly to supporting children's education in Uganda.

3. Eligibility

To participate in the Lottery, you must:

  • Be aged 18 or over at the time of purchase
  • Be a resident of Great Britain (England, Scotland, or Wales)
  • Not be a trustee or employee of I Got Shoes
  • Provide accurate personal information including your date of birth

We reserve the right to verify your age and identity before processing any prize claims. Any ticket purchased by someone under 18 or outside Great Britain will be void and any prize claim will be rejected.

4. How to Enter

Entries can be purchased through our website. To enter:

  • Select the number of entries you wish to purchase
  • Provide your name, address, email, and date of birth
  • Complete payment by debit card or Direct Debit
  • Receive confirmation and your unique lottery numbers by email

Once purchased, entries cannot be cancelled or refunded except where required by law.

5. Ticket Prices & Payment

Each lottery entry costs £1 per week. Entries can be purchased in multiples. Payment can be made by debit card or Direct Debit. Monthly payment amounts are calculated based on the number of weekly entries selected. Prices may be subject to change with reasonable notice. Credit cards are not accepted for lottery purchases in compliance with UK gambling regulations.

6. Prize Draw

Draws take place every Friday. Results are published on our website and emailed to all participants. The draw is conducted using a certified random number generator by our licensed lottery manager. Each draw offers 162 prizes:

  • 1 x £1,000 (first prize)
  • 1 x £100 (second prize)
  • 10 x £50 (third to twelfth prizes)
  • 50 x £10 (thirteenth to sixty-second prizes)
  • 100 free entries for the next draw

7. Prize Claims

Cash prizes under £100 are paid automatically by bank transfer within 14 days of the draw. Prizes of £100 or more require identity verification before payment. Winners will be contacted by email. Prizes must be claimed within 90 days of the draw date. Unclaimed prizes will be donated to I Got Shoes charitable activities.

8. Responsible Gambling

Gambling should be enjoyable and played responsibly. Only play with money you can afford to lose. If you feel that gambling is affecting your life negatively, please seek support from GamCare (gamcare.org.uk, 0808 8020 133) or BeGambleAware (begambleaware.org). We encourage players to set spending limits and to take regular breaks.

9. Self-Exclusion

You may request to be excluded from participating in the Lottery at any time by contacting us at info@igotshoes.co.uk with the subject line “Self-Exclusion Request”. Self-exclusion takes effect within 24 hours and will last for a minimum of 6 months. During this period, you will not be able to purchase lottery tickets and any existing subscriptions will be cancelled.

10. Data Protection & Privacy

We collect and process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Your data is used to administer the Lottery, process payments, distribute prizes, and comply with legal requirements including age verification. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes without your consent.

11. Complaints

If you have a complaint about the Lottery, please contact us at info@igotshoes.co.uk with the subject line “Lottery Complaint”. We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 28 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate your complaint to the relevant licensing authority or the Fundraising Regulator.

12. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your participation in the Lottery shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
